IMPORTANCE OF HUMILITY
1Pe 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Humility is having low regards to ones merit, importance or rank.
Some of the synonyms of humility are lowliness, meekness and submissiveness.
Jesus Christ is the epitome of humility and that is why He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross for our redemption.
Jesus Christ humbled Himself up to death. God is lowly in heart and in Him there is no trace of pride.
We as Christians should emulate Jesus Christ and be humble, regardless of how we are successful in life or what the society thinks about us.
We as Christians are to be a peculiar people.
Worldly people think that a person who is lowly in heart is a coward or foolish; but we as Christians should show humble estimates of our achievements for we know who called us out of the world.
The mindset of worldly people and true Christians have nothing in common. Christians should mind what God thinks about them as opposed to what enemies of the Lord think about them.
Jesus Christ said that the meek shall inherit the earth. In humility there is success, eternal life and God’s favour. In humility there is wisdom but to the lips of the foolish is a rod of pride.
Pro 14:3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
Pride is a sin. Pride is the opposite of humility. God uplifts the lowly in heart but detests the proud.
Jesus Christ told us that if anyone humbles himself before God he shall be uplifted, but if anyone exalts himself, he or she shall be abased.
Mat 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Jesus Christ condemned the prayer of the Pharisees for they were prideful before God.
When we go to the presence of the Lord, we are to acknowledge ourselves as sinners and beseech God to wash us with His precious blood. We are to display humility before God especially during prayer or worship.
Benefits of Humility.
Kicking out strife from our lives.
Pride is the motivating factor for steering strife.
When both parties at a disagreement are prideful, the strife is likely not to end. But when one party in the strife is humble and chooses to let go of the offence, the strife ceases.
A Christian must not strife but must learn to be meek to all men. Humility is a key factor in overcoming strife in our lives.

The prayers of a proud person can never be answered by a humble God. Remember to always uphold humility before God.
When a person is humble; he or she is capable of ignoring insults.
This is because they do not highly regard themselves. A true servant of God should be humble in order not to retaliate when persecutions come. They spat, mocked, bared false witness against Jesus but He held his peace.
A person who is humble is able to preserve relationships for a long time because they are used at ignoring insults.
Humility displays true discipleship;
When a person is proud that person cannot claim to be a true Christian because people can judge by their conversion and actions that they are not genuine Christians.
We are expected to be humble so that we can display ourselves as true Christians and not merely fake Christians who claim Christianity by word not in deed.
Humility enables a person to repent from his or her sins;
A person who is humble can kneel down and cry out to God for grace and mercy.
A person who is proud cannot beg God for mercy because of the way his or her wicked heart is. God is open ears to the humble.
A proud person can never be corrected because they think out of their foolish heart that they know everything.
Pastors, evangelists’ and reprobates who are prideful can never be corrected and most probably they will perish in their iniquity.
Proud people detest being corrected, but a humble person will take correction and love his or her reprover. Humility plays an important role in genuine repentance to God.
Brothers and sisters in the Lord repent if you have been displaying pride.
A lot of Christians who sing for the Lord, cast out demons, prophesy and do incredible works in the name of Jesus Christ get full of pride and think that they are overly important.
These people may glorify themselves instead of directing the glory to God. Christians who are displaying pride should repent because pride is the mother of all sins.
Lucifer fell out of heaven because of pride. True Christianity should embrace humility. All servants of God should be humble for this is pleasing to the most High God.
