FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Jas 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also
The word of God tells us that real faith should be accompanied by works.
Faith alone is vain. Your faith should be manifested by your works.
If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, your works should show that you are a follower of Jesus Christ.
If your faith is accompanied by works, you strengthen your faith and the enemy will not easily derail you from the lord Jesus Christ because you have built your faith on a strong foundation as Jesus Christ puts it on a rock.
Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Luk 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Luk 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Luk 6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Faith alone equals damnation. Faith without works is dead which means that you cannot claim to have the love of Christ and you fail to do the deeds that show you love Jesus.
For you to be saved or make it to the kingdom of God, your faith must be accompanied by works. Faith and works should go hand in hand.
If your works do not correspond with what you believe then their is problem with your faith.
You cannot claim to love the Lord Jesus Christ and do the deeds which offend him and likewise; you cannot claim to hate satan and live a life that pleases the devil.
The following are examples of works of faith that justify our faith in Christ.
Helping the needy.
When you see a person who is needy, make an effort to help them. Do not only pray for the needy and leave them.
You can give them financial aid or food or anything that they require if you have it with you.
Do not ignore the plea and cry of the needy because if you do that, God will hear the voice of the needy and it will be counted as sin upon you.
The word of God tells that whoever shuts his eyes and ears from the cry of the poor he or she will bring to himself or herself many curses.
Preaching or evangelizing.
Evangelizing and preaching are works of faith. When you preach the word of God you reach out to the lost and if they come to the knowledge of truth and receive it they can repent and be saved.
Evangelism can help save a soul from death and hide a multitude of transgressions. Failing to evangelize and preach is a sin.
This is a commission given to all Christians. God does not save people to just sit down without doing anything. God saves people and fills them with His Spirit so that they can go out and win souls for his kingdom.
Visiting the fatherless and pleading the course of the widows.
You are supposed to help the orphans by visiting them in the orphanage and helping the widows who are not financially stable.
Visiting those in prisons.
We are encouraged to visit those in prisons especially those that have been jailed for the word of God or jailed falsely by our enemy.
We are to encourage them to take heart and be there when they need us.
